Newzoo

Seven-plus years leading design, development and web operations for a global games market intelligence company.

The project
A global games market intelligence company whose content-rich website attracted millions of visitors annually, serving multiple stakeholders across publishing, marketing, and internal operations.
My contribution
Sole owner of Newzoo’s WordPress website and supporting web infrastructure for over seven years, responsible for design, development, performance, and ongoing operations. Built custom internal applications with Next.js, developed automations, and set up company-wide tooling, including Jira.
What it delivers
Seven-plus years of continuous development and operational ownership, keeping the website and its supporting systems running and evolving with the business. The current live website is a subsequent rebuild and does not represent my work.

A private writing tool I designed and built for brand-consistent articles, social posts and drafts ready for WordPress.

Turning source material into articles and social posts means keeping facts, brand voice, and formatting consistent across every draft.
My contribution
Designed and built an internal writing assistant that turns text, images, and PDFs into article drafts, title options, and LinkedIn posts, with brand voice checks and automatic revisions.

One workspace to generate, edit, and revisit content, with saved writing sessions, checks against source material, and HTML output ready for WordPress.

About

I’ve always liked making things.

Alessandro sitting outdoors beside trees and plants, wearing sunglasses and a white shirt.

I’m Alessandro Benassi. As a kid, I took electronic toys apart. By the early 2000s, I was exploring computers and the internet to the sound of a dial-up modem. Later, I started making electronic music on my computer. Building websites gives me that same feeling: turning an idea into something real that people can see and use. It still amazes me.

I keep my studio small so I can work directly with people and give the details the attention they deserve. I care about what we make and what it means to the person behind it.

I’m Italian, currently living in Amsterdam with my wife and our cat Yuna, my tabby cat, enjoying a sunny spot. . Away from work, I’m a coffee nerd and love Japan and gaming, especially Final Fantasy VII.
